Stunning large 17th Century Pierced Brass Gimbaled Hand Warmer. Bought from an Economics Professor (friend) who said his great great uncle who a missionary to China. bought it there. More likely he bought on his travels going or coming. For your benefit I have included a photo of an Christie\'s sale that sold a nearly identical but much smaller sphere. It is hand crafted with motif of flowers and peacocks/birds. It has a hinge and a brass hook. A second brass hook is missing. The gimbal mechanism on the inside keeps the liquid from every spilling. It is original as is everything else. The only thing that needs doing is re-attatching the hinge so the topand bottom open but do not separate. Weighs: 2lbs. 12oz.Size: 9\"inches Diameter. 9\"inches Tall.Shape: Sphere.Excellent Condition.
