For your consideration is a very nice Civil war era stoneware jugfound in Charleston, South Carolina. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or restoration. It is gray in color on the outside and painted brown inside the bottle. Ithas a vey nice orange peel glaze with some glaze run over across the bottom. This run over excess is very thin in this area and .shows glaze crazing with what looks to be small cracks. It is onlyglaze crackle and thevessel itself is very solid,having no damages whatsoever.The jug is somewhatheavy, measuring right at 8\" tall and 4\" across the bottom. This is a very nice displaying piece that will be a super addition to your collection.
