Very Old Handmade and Painted French Faience Pottery Plate. The glossy white plate has a heavy enameled design that features a fire spitting dragon in the center with a crown painted above its head. Six fleurs-de-lis and ermine tails surround the dragon. The uneven rim is decorated with tiny red dots that are encircled with a blue color. The reverse side has two holes for hanging the plate. The reverse side is marked, \"Chaumont Sur Loire\". The plate has a wonderful smooth feel. It appears to be very old -- 1800\'s.SIZE: 8 1/2 inches wide.CONDITION: Due to age and use, the plate has wear, crazing, small rim chips with glaze loss. The reverse side has a large piece of glaze loss. It is very clean, and bright.Wonderful, unique, very colorful French display plate.
