This is not a modern print. This original Saro Cucinotta etching is more than 145 years old. The strike is crisp and the lines are sharp.

Artist Biography:
Saro Cucinotta was an an Italian engraver . Saro Cucinotta participates in the riots of 1848 in Italy. In Messina, he participated in the engraving courses of Tommaso Aloisio Juvara and in 1850 he follows his master in Naples at the Institute of Fine Arts. Towards the end of 1866 he moved to Paris where, during the Commune , he was shot on 21 May 1871 and his body disappeared. This fact remains mysterious: difficult to say whether he actively participated in the revolt or whether he was a Red Cross rescuer.
