1800s Porcelain Candy Trinket Dish-gold Rim Marked Es Wilcox- Limoges Artist:
This is a gorgeous, hand-painted, antique porcelain candy or trinket dish signed by the artist, E.S. Wilcox. The dish could also be used as a jewelry tray. I cannot find a mark on the back of this porcelain dish however I was able to find another piece signed by the artist (exact signature and style) that was marked on the back "D&C France". That mark was for R Delinieres Limoges and dated between 1894 to 1900. The style of this dish is very typical of Victorian era Limoges porcelain being produced at that time. The lovely, leaf shaped dish boasts beautiful pink dogwood flowers on a sky blue backdrop. The leaf is edged in gold. It has been in my family for as long as I can remember (over 50 years). The handpainted ceramic collectible is in perfect condition. It measures 7" x 7" and 1.5" in depth.
