This listing is for the early wood book. It does, however, look like a newer sliding lid was made and signed John Dierwechter of Scheafferstown pa. The newer paint stain on the lid is dark red and matches the brown stained sidessomewhat well.

The bottom of the box would be from the 1800s. The lid seems to be a later addition.

Box measures approx 4.75\" x 7.75\" x 2 5/8\" tall.
