George Reynolds 1765-1863, was a schoolteacher, Master of the Lambeth Boy\'s Parochial School, and Writing Master to the Female Asylum, Lambeth. London, and the father of John Hamilton Reynolds 1794-1852 the English poet, satirist, critic, and playwright, and Jane Reynolds who married the poet Thomas Hood.

The only work he was known to write were books on arithmetic for schools and teachers and this 197 page story appears to be his only work of fiction.
No other copies of this work can be located, and not listed in COPAC.

CONDITION
Original paper covered boards with leather spine. Binding is worn and stained, pages are dust marked, some with stains, title page has slight loss to top edge not affecting text, some pages are miss-numbered but all complete.Size is 7¼ by 4¼ inches.
