\"An Accurate Map of Hindostan or INDIA from the Best Authorities\" Large double page atlas sheet measures 23.25\" wide x 17\" tall, image area approx 16\" wide by 15.5\" tall, full plate mark, nicely engraved shows all of India, Ceylon, Nepal and lands bordering the Bay of Bengal as far east as Burma. Has penciled identification as Carey 1814 in hand of former owner. (Carey was American publisher of atlases). Nice margins, a bit of wear at the fold. Borders outlined in pastel toned watercolor. Many place names, some geographic features and also islands in Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal. Early for an American map of India and South East Asia.Some slight overall discoloration.
