DETAILS: (Paris): Lefevre, 1818. Edition unstated. Half leather bindings. 320, 494, 486, 338pp. Illustrated with 15 engraved plates. Text in French. 8vo (standard sized books). *This is a heavy item weighing over 2.2kg with packaging!

CONDITION:Good to Very Good (see table below for details). All volumes: Rubbing and edgewear to covers and spine.Scuffing to boards. Rear hinge of Volume 3 cracked, board loose but not detached. A hint ofsunningto pages and plates. Light foxing to some pages (slightly heavier in Volume 5),occasional light dirt to top edge of pages. Staining to many pages and plates inVolume 2 at top (and at bottom towards the end), heavier towards rear; Volumes 3 and 4 also have staining at top and bottom of pages, heavier at front and rear, crimpling rather than stainingto centre pages and plates.*Photo(s) given of actual book.

CONTENTS: Four volumes from a six-volume set of the works of Jean de La Fontaine (1621-1695). These four volumes contain: Fables (Volume 2 - a second set, the first set in the first volume, not present here); Oeuvres diverses (Volume 3 - including \'Elegies\', \'Epigrammes\', and various songs, ballads and sonnets); Contes (Volume 4); Psyché (Volume 5 - including \'Les Amours de Psyché et de Cupidon\'; \'Adonis\'; \'La Captivité de saint Malc\'; and \'Le Quinquina\').

Three of the four volumes have some form of staining at the top and bottom of pages and plates (crimpling to some pages, rather than staining), and some scattered foxing but the text is still clear and readable, and several of the plates are still in good condition.
