Map Details: A gorgeous and extremely rare map that depicts the state and territory boundaries of the US in 1835, just prior to Texas declaring its independence. Arkansas Territory, which would become a state in 1836, is shown, along with several large Indian districts, including Ozark, Osage, Huron, Sioux, and Mandanes. Two insets depict southern Florida and the islands of Saint Pierre and Miquelon. The map shows the burgeoning railroad system extending west, although none west of the Mississippi River. Having been published in 1860, this map was created to give a historical view of the United States. The is a notation in Texas regarding its annexation to the US in 1845, and another adjacent to the insets indicating the growth of the United States from 24 states in 1840 to 38 states and territories in 1857.The map is in what I would consider excellent condition given the age of the map.Gorgeous hand coloring. Thismap is from my personal collection. I will entertain offers as well.

Strikingly interesting andhighly detailed map.The map depicts in great detailall of the geographical information known at the timethe map was published.Note that many geographical details have changed since the map was published and were not accurate compared to today\'s modern maps because things were fully discovered and accurately mapped yet. Map symbols and details include individual towns, rivers, lakes, bays, harbors, islands, mountains, forests, roadsand other important places as shown on the map in this listing.

2. The map is inexcellent condition consideringthe age and rarity of the map.The overall size of the map sheet is approximately22 inches by15 inches.

3. The map is a 100% original and genuine antique map.

All of my maps are investment grade and collectible quality. The value of this original will only increase over time. Many people are now starting to offer cheap reproductions/copies. Why spend the money for something like that when you can have an original for a few dollars more that will only increase in value over time.
