This is an amazing solid silver water/milkpitcher/jug. The piece is a very fine mid-19th century American example whichis date 1848. I was told it was made by a company who a few years later becamepart of the famous Dominick & Haff SilverCompany. I have shown the mark clearly in thephotos and it is certainly worth looking intofurther. From the pattern of the maker’s mark, it’s obviously made by anAmerican silver company.

Measurement: Height 7\", Width 4\"x6\"including handle

Weight: 464 grams or 16.4 oz 900 gradecoin silver or 925 sterling silver guaranteed

Condition: very good, polished, ready to displayor use, no dent, no ding

Hallmark: G&H 1848 GALLE & HxYDEN(There is one letter not legible.)

I also have a sugar bowlthat matches this pitcher though it bears later Gorham marks. So we are sellingit separately in another of my listing.
