DESCRIPTION: 1850\'s cased 1/6 plate daguerreotype portrait of a young gent wearing a tartan plaid scarf or shawl around him, and with a colored gold watch chain on his waistcoat. His rings on one hand are also gilded. Possibly a Scottish immigrant to the US, or of Scottish descent?
CONDITION: I photographed this without the glass--it has a mat and glass but no preserver. The case has some damage--leather peeling off back cover. Velvet is torn on inside cover. There is a swipe mark on the dag at the right side. Image is on the dark side and was hard to photograph. Some oxidation around edges.
