Professor of geography at the University ofLeipzig. Around 1860, Delitsch began designing map segments for Felklterrestrial globes with two to three levels of elevation.

In 1855 Felkl offered an illustrated prospectus for globes in six varioussizes. Within the next 20 years, Felkl rose to be the largest globemanufacturer within the Austro-Hungarian market, producing terrestrial andcelestial globes in 17 languages.

Stands 14”tall, 6” Diameter.

-Ottoman Empire, Russian Empire includes Finland and Poland (before1917)

-Nosign of Panama Canal (before 1907)

-Cuba and Panama are not independent (1903)

-There is no Rhodesia in Africa (before 1895)

-No S. & N. Dakota on US map (before 1891)

-No Free Congo State established (1885)

-Suez Canal is not on the map (1868)

This globe is in good condition for a 150 year old. Colorsare vivid, details crisp. There is scuffing and soiling. No loss of map. Somerepaired cracks. Meridian and base are also in age appropriate condition.
