Here is an Exquisite, Large and Impressive Victorian Inkstand Desk Set Made in 1856 by the Famous London Silversmith, Henry Holland, in Fully Hallmarked English Sterling Silver with Two Beautiful Cut Crystal Jars
The Inkstand has a Central Wafer Box and a Taper Stick in the form of a Miniature Chamber Candlestick - All in Excellent Condition 45 Ounces of Weighable Silver (1260 grams) - 15 x 9.5 Inches (38 x 24 cms)

Here is a top quality large Victorian Inkstand made by the noted London silversmith, Henry Holland.

This is very large, wonderfully ornate, and a VERY IMPRESSIVE desk accessory.

This elegant Inkstand was made in 1856 in fully hallmarked English Sterling Silver.

The rectangular Inkstand has four strong acanthus leaf feet and a flower and foliage edge border decoration.

There is a large cut crystal inkwell with a silver top and a matching pounce pot or sander. On the bottom of each crystal piece, there is a cut star burst design.
The crystal jars are three and a half inches tall (3.5 ins / 8.5 cms).

The center is adorned with an ornate pedestal hiding a wax wafer box.
This is topped by an elegant miniature chamber stick with a lovely “C” scroll handle.

The Inkstand is overall in excellent condition, with very little wear unusual for its age – see photographs.

This beautiful rectangular Inkstand is 15 inches by 9.5 inches (38 x 24 cms) and has 45 ounces of weighable silver (1260 grams).
This handsome piece is in lovely condition with no damage or obvious wear.

The hallmarks shown above are the maker’s mark “H.H” for the famous silversmith, Henry Holland, the lion passant guarantee mark for English sterling silver, the leopard’s head the town mark for London, the letter “a” the date letter for 1856 and the duty mark the head of Queen Victoria.
All the individual parts of the set bear appropriate partial hallmarks, except the two tops on the crystal jars, but these are guaranteed sterling standard silver.
