Offering a Declaration of Independence Plaque by S. H. Black, dated 1859. It has been cast in Bronze and is 7\" wide, 7 3/4\" high and 1/4\" thick.
The front of theplaque is the text of the Declaration of Independence is printed in the background with an 86 mm round depiction of the signing of the Declaration, after John Trumbull. The signatures of the signers are shown below. At the bottom, in small text is \"Entered According to the Act of Congress, in the Year 1859, by S.H. Black in the Clerk\'sOffice of the District Court of New York\".
The back of theplaque is blank, with three raised pads that allow it to lie flat.
This is not a electro-type, but is cast in solid, I presume, bronze. It weighs 997 grams (just over two pounds).
There is no obvious wear, but there are some small scattered spots scattered.
