An advertisement in the Oct. 10, 1878 Sydney Morning Herald reads- \"VAN BRUNT AROMATIC SCHIEDAM SCHNAPPS (fast superseding all others in the U.S.), on Sale in parcels to dealers, storekeepers, and the trade. Barron, Moxham, and Co., Sole Agents. Office and Stores, York-st., Wynyard-sq.\"
Thisrare 1860s9 7/8\" schnapps was blown in a two piece moldwith lots ofbubbles and a very crude applied top. It is a nice dark apple/emerald green -I did have to lighten the photos a little so you could see the details.
Veryheavy andin very good condition with only a small bruise on the topedge and a \"fisheye\"near the bottom of the Van Brunt\'s panel beveled edge (marked with an arrow in photo #11). The swirls in the glass are water lines.Any bright spots are just sun glare and the light areas are reflections from the table and overhead screen - it is nicer than the photos depict.
Very strong embossing on three panels -\"VANBRUNT\'S\", \"AROMATIC SCHNAPPS,\" and\"SCHIEDAM.\"
Photos #2, 5 & 10 areclose ups of the neck and top showing some of thebubbles,folds,stretch marks and the bruise.
There is a total of 13 photos showing all four sides, top and bottom with close ups.
This is the only one I have ever seen in allmy years of collecting - don\'t miss out on this one!!!!!!
