1861Delaware Lottery Scheme Letter

This wasfound inside a book copyrighted in 1863. It is from the Office of Bower,Wilkins and Co. Bankers, Brokers and Licenced Venders of Tickets in TheDelaware Lotteries. It is dated Feb. i3th, 1861.

The gistof the scheme is that by sending $10 to this office the sender will receive acertificate of a lucky package containing the tickets prizes and be entered ina large lottery and another package for another different drawing. The receiverof the letter is asked to keep the information strictly confidential. In theP.S. it is stated that “All money can be sent by Express at our desk or by mailas you may desire”.I don\'t think it is hand written - rather it is printed to look like a personal correspondence.

Conditionis Very Good. A bit of staining and some of the creases are beginning to tearthrough.
