Up for sale is a very nice 1862 United States note in VG condition. The ink is still bold and complete with no details missing. There are no tears or chips that are inconsistent with the condition (none are larger than 1/8\"). The ones you might see in the picture are actually due to the paper folding at the edge. 99.999+% of the paper is there. There are no water stains, missing corners, rust stains, tape, or any distracting issues. This is a note that is solid for the VG grade which has been passed through many hands during its time as current tender.

This note is particularly interesting as it is the first paper money issued by the government of the United States, rather than banknotes issued by individual banks. These are the fabled \"Greenbacks\" you learn about in your US history class.

This coin will be shipped via tracked and fully-insured USPS First Class Mail.
