1863 WELLSBURG WEST VIRGINIA CIVIL WAR PERIOD PERSONAL LETTER AND COVER WITH STAMP AND POSTMARK Dated Oct. 26, 1863 with postmark and 3 cents stamp on pale yellow cover. 5\" X 3\". Wellsburg didn\'t have a post office until 1870 and posted only several months after West Virginia was made a state. 4 pages from \"Anna\" to a relative in Cincinnati whose last name was Bartholomew. Anna describes at least 10 different relatives and what they were doing. She says \"It is cheering to receive such good tidings in these troublous times. Is little Mary Lizzie to be weaned this winter. I suppose if we are spared we shall see her darling face in time.\" With a lot more content about various relatives. No battle descriptions. In VG condition with the right edge of the cover slightly ragged but the stamp and cancel look good. (see all 11 pictures)
