$500 VF/FN & Almost Uncirculated
(Stonewall Jackson Note)
Here is the popular and collectible 1864 $500 Confederate States of America (CSA) bank note also known as the Stonewall Jackson Note. This is a highest denomination note and key to the last series of CSA currency.
Note, 1744, is assessed at an about very fine or fine plus range. It has folds, dirt, 1 split on the bottom of the note near the signature line.
Note, 31311, is in almost uncirculated. It\'s paper is crisp and flat and only has a couple of half light bends. An exceptional note, which is usually found circulated. It has a fancy binary number and has pencil marking on the reverse mentioned for accuracy.
The design of this note is what collectors appreciate. It has the Confederate Flag and Seal to the left and a portrait of General T.J. Stonewall Jackson to the right. Above reads, “Two Years after the Ratification of a Treaty of Peace between the CONFEDERATE STATES & THE UNITED STATES”. This note is different from many of the rest because a stamp on the bottom left is visible on the back of the note. The signatures are also extremely clear. A historic document for the lover of history, bank notes, and Americana.
