This is a very nice smaller pocket size, complete Holy Bible with leather cover dated 1869. Measures 3 1/2\" x 5\" x 1 1/2\". Contains both the Old and New Testament. Reads \"translated out of the original tongues\". Published by American Bible Society, New York. Gilt edges and title on spine, flap closure. Very good condition for age. Handwritten salutation on front blank page dated 1875. No tears or damage. All text is clear and readable. Pages still attached to binding. Moderate wear to leather covers as shown above. It was purchased from an estate collection that had been packed with other bibles and books of the period.
