Map is printed on a fine linen and entitled:\'Plan of Coton Park And Adjoining Properties\' - \'Scale 10 Chains Per Inch\'(approx 200 meters to the inch) by \'F.C. GILLETT\' 1870\'
Size approx\' 64 x 34 cms (25\"x12 1/2\")
The map (dated 1870) shows land ownership and what might well be the blocks of land that were being leased,for coal extraction,to Netherseal Colliery (opened 1872)at that time. The red line appears to be thepurposedroot of the Netherseal Colliery Branch Line from theLeicester& Burton Railway Line.As such this map gives details of the area before the firstedition large scale OS Map of 1883-1900.
Condition:Very Good -(please see photos) The Map has been folded in the past.I will also include an A4 size printout of the Map.(TrueSales-r-us is a watermark & does not appear on the actual map)
