Augustus Mitchell, Jr. in the Clerk\'s Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania A fantastically detailed map showing Cincinnati as it was in the middle of the 19th Century. The city is shown at street level detail with many of the important civic buildings named and each of the 16 City Wards identified by number. The Cincinnati, Hamilton & Dayton and the Ohio and Mississippi Railroads are shown as serving the city and the White Water Canal is identified. The area in Ward 2 shows most of the civic and other important buildings, including the mayor’s office, Olympic Theater, U.S. Hotel, Mechanic’s Institute, the Odd Fellow’s and the Masonic Halls, as well as, the Post Office and Custom House. The publication detail \"Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1872 by S. Nice size, page is 12\" by 13.5\" with large margins, excellent for framing. Condition

In very good shape, this 142 year old map shows minor wear with some staining mostly in the margins which would be covered if framed. Printed on heavy paper. This is a must see/buy.
