1874 NEWSPAPERHARPER\'S WEEKLY - A JOURNAL OF CIVILIZATION
This newspaper \"Haper\'s Weekly - A Journal of Civilization\" is dated June 13, 1874, Vol. XVIII- No. 911. The Cover illustration depicts a rally where 43 women who came to sing and pray for the police\'s failure to enforce laws against the liquor traffic, were arrested and the police, depicted as pigs, were \"marching them to the station house.\" Other articles are titled: \"The Civil Rights Bill\", Merchandise in the Mails\", \"A Joke in the Senate\", \"Domestic Intelligence\", \"Foreign News\" and many more. There are many illustrations, advertisements and stories as well. The newspaper has somerough edges, toning and yellowing from age but all in all, fairly good condition. It is fragile, also due to age. Interesting bit of history.
