After the Civil War, with the advent of the industrial revolution, political china and glassware went into large production and nationwide distribution. But remember, likely 95% or more of it is no longerevenin existence. During the 1880 Presidential campaign, this 8.25\" china plate with adecal, transfer image of the republican candidate, James A. Garfield, was issued with an oval and, with what looks like\"SEGNE PORCELAIN\" impressed on the back. This is in very nice condition with age crazing overall, but the image is clear with very little scratching, and the gold ring along the outside is unworn.
