1880\'S COPPER BROWN SILK, CUT VELVET BUSTLE DRESS:

This is a striking copper/brown satin bustle gown. With brown and tan cut velvet panels and cuffs, it has a lace ruffle at the squared neckline. Buttons are brown macrame or crochet.
The skirt has an asymmetrical drape and \"pouff\" effect, the pouff with a hook and eye to hold it up against the back of the skirt. The hook has come unattached but is still attached to the eye. There is a pleated hem.
Both pieces are lined with cotton. There are five hooks and eyes at each side of the waist to attach the heavy skirt to the bodice.
Size is a little larger than usual. The bodice measures 37 1/2\", waist 32\". The skirt measures 32 3/4\" around at the waist, it\'s 40 1/8\" long in front, 41 3/8\" long in back. These are outside measurements.
Good condition. The bodice has numerous small marks or \"scuffs\" to the fabric, a few tiny holes. Some of the marks are along the fold lines of the sleeves, also where it was taken in at the side near the bottom of the waistband. The silk is not weak, splitting or shredding, however. There are some fold lines at the elbows, one seam on the sleeve needs to be resewn, it\'s about 5\" long.
Underarms are good, there are interesting linen underarm guards attached. The skirt has a 3\" split at the waistband, one \"L\" shaped tear, and a section with holes and frayig. I have shown the last two flaws in the pictures above. The larger holes would be mostly hidden if the pleats were pressed back into shape, this is not a skill I have, however. The skirt also has a scattering of tiny scuffs, a few minor areas with color loss. Color is a little darker than the pics show, it\'s a golden coppery please be aware that any VAT, delivery, or customs charges are not part of the item price of my own shipping charges.
