The print is a hand-colored \"stone\" lithograph printed circa 1884.

The lithograph has been hand-colored using stencils (the brush strokes and small mistakes along the edges are easily seen.) When viewed with a strong magnifyinglens / jeweler\'s loop, the colorsdo notbreak-up into Bend-day dots / half-tone lithography.

The sheet measures 14 X 11 inches and is in poor condition due to age toning, damp stains, a small tear on the right edge, 5 small losses on the edges, foxing spots, and being trimmed slightly on the edges. The image is a racist caricature of two African American men in a political debate. One is in front of pictures of G. Washington and \"A. Linkum,\" and the other is in front of picture of U.S. Grant.
There is nothing printed on the back side.
