Set of two (2) Antique volumes of Twenty Years of Congress, featuring U.S. History at the time of the Civil War published in 1884. These very old books are in good condition. Each Volume is illustrated with numerous beautiful, high quality steel engravings. Please see photos above. Volume 1 & 2 are entitled, “Twenty Years of Congress from Lincoln to Garfield with a Review of The Events Which Led to the Political Revolution of 1860.” The books are written by James G. Blaine and published by The Henry Bill Publishing Co., Norwich, Conn. 1884. Hardcover books are structurally sound. Covers are secure, pages are intact, off-white due to age, but in good condition. There is some wear at the edge and corners of both volumes. Wear at the top and bottom of the spines noted, with a little fraying. The fore-edges of the book\'s pages, are marbleized; Volume 1’s is very light, and has an illustration of the author, with a signature which is either hand signed, or printed, plus Abe Lincoln with printed signature.No. 2 features an illustration of US Grant with printed signature.Both volumes have numerous other illustrations.
