Louis Antoine Fauvelet de Bourrienne (July 9, 1769 ? February 7, 1834) was educated at the military school of Brienne in Champagne along with Napoleon Bonaparte; and although the solitary habits of the latter made intimacy difficult, the two youths seem to have been on friendly terms. However, the stories of their very close friendship, as told in Bourrienne\'s memoirs, are open to suspicion.

CONDITION

In decorative green morocco bindings with gilt detailing. Externally, very smart, with just a few marks and some slight fading to the spines. Internally, firmly bound. One hinge is strained.Prize bookplate to front pastedown, with private ex-libris of \'LMP\' blindstamp to front free-endpaper. Pages are bright and clean, with just some spotting to the first and last few pages, as usual. Overall: VERY GOOD INDEED.
