A fine Doulton Lambeth stoneware harvest jug dated 1887 made to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The jug is two-tone glazed with cream sprig figures applied to the sides. They include a garter belt with \"Honi Seit Qui Mal y Pense\" and shows Queen Victoria on her throne between the Goddesses of Town and Country. Above and below are the dates 1837-1887. Also applied are Britannia and Hibernia and loyal subjects from the Empire.Condition of the jug is very good without any chips or cracks. The base is stamped with Rd(registered) 71203 Doulton Lambeth and the artists marks SS. A fine piece of collectable Victorian commemorative ware.Size: 14 x 17 x 17.5
