Likely dating to the 1890\'s this is an extraordinarily graphically detailed wooden shipping crate from the famed Gold Dust Twins soap powder. The crate is huge at approx 27.5 inches long by 21 inches wide and 12 inches tall. It is in amazing condition with a beautiful golden toned patina. This beautiful piece of very early advertising is extremely graphic on all sides, a true work of art! The graphics are sharp and rich in tone. Each end has an extremely detailed image of the Gold Dust twins. I have shown quite a few photos of the graphics. Not many of these old wooden Gold Dust twins shipping crates have survived as they were made to simply ship the product to the stores and then they were generally disposed of. There wasn\'t any value placed on these crates at the time so they were generally destroyed and therefore not many have survived. Especially in this condition.The overall condition is remarkable with the imagery on all four sides being very sharp, bold and bright. A remarkable piece of early advertising that will appeal to the general store collector, Gold Dust Soap collector and obviously the Black Americana collector.*Please note that I had two of these, both identical. I sold the first one a short time ago and although I have not changed the photos, this crate is identical except that it does not have the metal straps on the side.
