Wonderful original 1880\'s Complete Set of Children\'s Paper Dolls titled “Lady Edith\" and from the \"Our Pets\" Series manufactured by Raphael Tuck & Sons. This fantastic set of Paper Doll’s includes a die cut Paper Doll figure printed on a light card stock with a folding easel type stand-up back. The Paper Doll Figure measures approx. 9” tall. The Set is complete and includes all 4 dresses and all 4 hats.

The Doll figure and all four of the dresses carry the mark of the manufacture - Raphael Tuck & Sons - on the reverse but no copyright notice. Marian B. Howard, in her classic Paper Doll reference titled \"Those Fascinating Paper Dolls\" talks about the exceptionally rare Paper Doll Sets in Raphael Tuck\'s \"Our Pets\". She states that at least 3 different Sets made up this Series but at the time her book was published only one Set from the Series was known - that known Set was titled \"Lady Edith\".

This very rare, original 19th century Lady Edith Paper Doll set is in very good to excellent condition. The Paper Doll figure and outfits are all die cut (rather than hand cut) as issued. All pieces are clean - the chromolithograph colors are bright and beautiful. The folding easel type stand that is attached at the back is intact and sound. The Doll and all of the outfits and the hats are exceptionally well preserved. The doll does have a crease at neck and some dresses are missing tabs. Original parts of box are included (as shown).
