The book is a bound volume of a full year (12 issues) of a rare illustrated astronomy journal published in 1893.

Northfield, Minn.: Goodsell Observatory, 1893.\"The book measures9 1/2 X 6 1/4inches; (thick 8vo); leather - 1/4 dark brown leather on marble boards with gilt stamped letters and raised bands on spine;spine re-cased in brown buckram with original spine cover laid down on top; surface of spine leather half chipped away; vertical cracks down center of spine cover; leather on spine & boards dry, cracked, flaking & crumbling; buckram stained by crumbling leather;edges of boards & spine well worn; marble end-papers; losses & tears to fore-edges of front free end-papers; **Ex-Library: library card holder inside front board, number ink stamped on title page and library ink stamp on verso of title page & first page of text; one folding plate, a single page plate and a few pages of text are detached & have minor chips missing fro edges; remnants of gray paper on title page;smudges on title page, front end-papers & scattered throughout; contents evenly age toned, otherwise contents clean;viii + 960 pages + plates.
