This is a true piece of history - an 1897 Artilleria FCA de Toledo bayonet with a genuine wood handle. If only it could talk. It does not have its scabbard. The bayonet (including handle) measures approximately 15\", and the blade alone is 9 7/8\". I did not attempt to polish or oil it because I didn\'t want to disrupt its patina. There are a few minor rust spots on the blade and the base of the blade. The serial number is somewhat worn and I\'m unable to tell if it is \"8721\" or \"3721\" or something similar. It\'s also possible that one or more of the numbers has rubbed off. At the top of the handle (closest to the blade) there is a small chunk missing in the wood, measuring less than 1/4\" x 1/4\".
