A remarkable glass intaglio Nathaniel Marchant (1739 - 1816) who was an English gem-engraver and medalist who won prizes from the London Society of Arts for his wonderful intaglios, many of which he copied from ancient reliefs and sculptures. He was considered one of the foremost gem engravers of his time. It was not unusual for engravers like Marchant to offer glass copies of their gems. This is one of them.

Excellent condition. Measures just shy of 1 ½” (3.7 cm).

Approx size is Height - 30mm, Width - 25mm, Depth - 3.5 mm

Has a nice wide surround so it can be mounted with a bezel.
