For your offerding consideration is a fantastic lot of Colonial, Revolutionary War period items dug in Charleston, South Carolina. This lot consist of a pair of blacksmith made iron scissors in remarkable dug relic condition. I removed all rust when found, they do show pitting as seen in the photo galleryand are very solid with no brittleness. I have not put any sealant, lacquer or any other preservative on them, leaving that option to the buyer. I applied a little oil after cleaning and they will probably be justfine as is. There are six handmade brass stick pins and seven very nice thimbles of different sizes, with one open thumb type. There are two extremely nice, heavy brass awls used in working leather. The larger one could have also served in a multitude of task, such as net mending, etc.. These materials were part of every day colonial life, display extremely well and a must for any Rev,war enthusiast or early American collector.
