This sale is for a spectacular original 18th century Pocket watch Chatelaine, its quite remarkable and the images do not do it justice at all as the condition is superb and it has a perfect original patina as well as very little wear or damage. The design is very classic but much more elaborate than normal and the effect of the cast decoration on the front is almost to show a 3 colour affect to the whole item? my assumption is that its Gilt metal of some description or type, it may be Silver Gilt and it looks for all the world like a solid Gold Chatelaine but that i think is pureley down to the stunning original condition and gilding which although it has a gold like bloom is basically perfect and original. If you have a Gold repouse cased Verge watch then this is the perfect charelaine to compliment your watch.This is not a copy and at worse if 1820 though my personal feeling is back end of the 18th century as described. Only straight down the middle. (hopefully its an approach that will catch on? could even call it .If its listed at buy it now and its horological its usually priced to leave a profit and I try and describe items conservativeley.
