This anonymous 18th century two page manuscript is a description of the Douglas, Massachusetts area in Southern New England. The area being described is just north of the northwest corner of the State of Rhode Island in Massachusetts. The author starts with a description of the land including Wallump Pond (which is now called Wallump Lake) and Badluc pond. He describes the area in detail he also describes the people of the area including the local businesses and the crops the farmers grow. The document is not dated but was probably written after the Revolutionary War, there is a description of a place where \"soldiers of the last war made it a resting place, logs surround to sit on called whites oaks tavern.\" This document is handwritten in ink on hand laid paper with an interesting watermark \"SAVE RAGS\". !
