18th Century Old Antique 4/4 Stainer Model Violin w/ Vintage Coffin Case:

prope Oenipontum 1787
where the date was handwritten.This violin does not have \"Stainer\" stamped on the back which I find interesting as most Stainer copies do. The year on the label seems to be consistent with the age of this violin.
This violin has had some cracks repaired in the past. Some are on the top, the peg box and the back (See photos). All repairs are stable. Interestingly, the peg box is flanked by two thin sheets of metal on opposite sides. Back and sides have a nice wooden pattern. Violin haslovely f-holes and scroll. But what\'s really exceptional about it is its very nice patina. In ready to play condition, this violin is fully set up with old ebony fittings, agood bridge and a new set of strings. The sound is pretty deep withgood resonance.The length of the back is 13 15/16 inches.Violin will be shipped with bridge down and strings relaxed in an old coffin case and packed really well.I OFFERFREE SHIPPING & INSURANCE WITHIN THE US
