Up for sale is a fine 18th century portrait of alady in a red dress, holding a flower. This is in a primitive style ofportraiture from around the year 1760. The paint appears to be in good condition, with some crackling anda few dirty spots, as shown in some of the photos. There are also some abrasionspots at the bottom where the edge has rubbed against the frame. The backgroundis dark, so most likely the painting needs some professional cleaning. Theframe is ornate, with a hint of gold. There is some minor damage to the frame,as shown in the photos. The painting is rather loose in the frame. It appears, by the sale tags, that the portrait started out in the UK, then made its way to Pennsylvania. The image is23.5 x 29.5 inches; overall the portrait measures 32 x 37.5 inches.
