Up for sale is this Early Silver Pair cased English Verge Fusee pocket watch from the mid 18th Century. I could not locate this maker in my book. Its probably from around 1750-1760. Movement is marked Mat Sayor (or Sayer) Exon. Best I could tell Exon is a small town in England at the time this watch was made. The case is made of silver. The spring catch for the outer case is broken and detached and will need to be replaced. The old catch and the push button are included with the sale. The inner case is missing the Bezel and crystal. The movement is dirty, Runs and stops, and will need a servicing and some simple adjustments. Ive included an extra dial that should fit this movement in case you do not like the one that is on it. (the one on it is probably a later replacement anyway) . It is also missing a minute hand. There is solder from a veryold repair around the neck of the pendant. It should probably be redone. Other than that, This is a wonderful antique time piece that could get by with just a service to get it Running. The original bright gilt is sound and in very nice condition. The movement is very nice and everything seems to be in excellent order. It has Square style pillars and has the worm/wheel setup. Movement is nicely pierced . The balance cock has a monster face and some other animal faces on it. The regulator plate is also pierced. Its a wonderful piece that wont take much to get back into full restored order.
