A highly carved eighteenth century German powderhorn with dogs attacking bears.The horn is carved in the round with seven dogs and two bears.Two of the dogs are attacking the cub as it\'s mother tries to fight of the others.The carving is well done and has a great color and surface.The butt end of the horn has pewter mounts and a crest with the date of 1757 while the tip has a pewter applique of a stag.The powder horn measures 14\" long and is 4.5\" wide and 2.5\" deep at the base.Condition is very good with some dents,a missing nail and minor damage to the pewter mount at the tip.Shipping will be 25.00 in the US and 50.00 international.
