A late-Victorian edition of Gilbert White\'s classic work on Selbourne.

White\'s Natural History was at once well received by contemporary critics and the public, and continued to be admired by a diverse range of nineteenth and twentieth century literary figures including Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Thomas Carlyle, Charles Darwin, John Ruskin, Virginia Woolf, and W. H. Auden.

CONDITION

In a cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, though with some fading to the spine and front board, and bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Prize bookplate to front pastedown. Pages are bright, and generally clean, with just some spotting to the fore-edge and endpapers. Overall: VERY GOOD.
