The Levee Of The Season, 1874 -a113 yearold printfroman originalcartoon by the famous cartoonist and illustrator Sir John Tenniel (British 1820-1914). PublishedbyPunch inJanuary 1901the print is guaranteed to beoriginal and not a laterreproduction.

Punch wasaweekly satirical magazinepublishedbetween themid19thand 20th centuries which was also known as the London Charivari. The cartoon is from a seriesthat looks back in memory at the life of the late Queen Victoria. The image recalls Victoria\'s review of the troops in the Great Park at Windsor following Britain\'s victory against the Ashanti in the 3rd Anglo Ashanti War.

The print measures8x10 inches (20x26cm), is titled, dated and paginated.It isin good condition for its age with any minor blemishesconfinedto the border area, and these will be unnoticeable once thecartoon has been mounted and framed. Thecartoonhas printon the reverse.

both branches of theservice, and some of the most famous regiments.\"
