This large medal (with ribbon) is a souvenir of the celebration of the 1902 coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra of Great Britain. The obverse has busts of the King and Queen, with their names and the date 1902 along the rim. The reverse has the words TO COMMEMORATE THE CORONATION OF KING EDWARD VII AND QUEEN ALEXANDRA MCMII. The medal is suspended on a red, white, and blue ribbon (with attachment pin) that may be original (unconfirmed, but similar ribbons were used for 1902 coronation souvenir medals). The composition is an unidentified (non-magnetic) metal with a silver-toned surface treatment, and it measures approximately 35 mm (1-3/8\") in diameter.

This item is in very good condition overall, with the medal having light wear, toning, and signs of handling. The ribbon remains fairly strong, with fairly light wear, restitching, and light soiling (or tanning).

NOTE: The actual medal is brighter and more attractive that evident in the photos. images had to be enlarged due to minimal size requirements, resulting in lack of clarity. In reality, the entire design and lettering are quite clear.
