This is anexample of the medal issued by the Japanese Red Cross to commemorate the Russo Japanese War of 1904-05. Official permission was not obtained for the issuance of the medal so it was not allowed to be worn in uniform and could only be kept as a keepsake, hence they are normally found without a ribbon. This medal is in bronze and has a different reverse inscription when compared to the usual Japanese Red Cross members\' medals.

Buyer pays US$6 for standard airmail postage or $14 for registered mail outside the UK. Postage within the UK is $6. Registered airmail is much safer since it allows tracking of packages and compensation in the event of loss. For high value items and certain destinations with unreliable postal systems I will only ship under registered airmail.
