This is an authentic1904 AnsoniaDAGOBERTstatue.This isextremely hard to find and is much larger than it appears in the photo. This is NOT one of the much smaller toppers that you usually see. This statue is usually the topper for the Eureka or Latonia models. The rider on this statuewas actually soldered onto the horse at the factory and is not held on with screws like many I have seen. As you can see a lot of the original bronze finish is still on the piece. Also, the reins are missing, but they often are and can be easily replaced. You can see the original casting holes in the photos which I have provided. Also, the handle of the axe is threaded into the hand which is a little different than usual, but I believe it is original.

This statue is also fantastic to use alone as a décor item.

The overall condition is excellent, but there are several small issues which I will point out and are correctable. The screw on the backside which holds the horse in place is a replacement. The studs on the rear hooves used to hold the horse in place are long gone. One has been replaced with a new brass screw which works fine. The left hoof, as you can se is stripped completely and the hole goes all the way through the hoof which can be seen in the photo. The easiest way to fix this would be to rethread the hole and then fill it in from the top, which would be an easy fix.
