1905 VIENNA ART PLATE IN ORIGINAL SHADOW BOX:

This is an exquisitely framed antique Vienna Art Plate issued in 1905. The visible portion of the plate is 9-inches in diameter and features a beautiful, partially exposed female surrounded by a green border with gold scroll work. A square, ornate design which I presume is clad in gold leaf overlays the plate and meets the corners of the frame. The frame itself is a black lacquered shadowbox with glass across the front. The plate and interior of the display are in perfect condition. The shadowbox enclosure has very slight wear notperceptibleat a normal viewing distance. The overall size of this piece is 16-inches tall x 16-inches wide x 2.75-inches depth. Shipping cost includes careful packing, insurance and a tracking number.
ADDENDUM NO. 1: In response to an inquiry, the $50 shipping cost listed above was an estimate. I\'ve since checked on both Registered and Priority Mail with insurance and the actual amount will be more. I will pay the difference to keep the shipping cost at $50.
ADDENDUM NO. 2: More photos have been requested and I\'ve posted them to this listing. For the close up photos of the interior I removed the glass across the front and noticed the base material of the gold ornate design surrounding the plate appears to be plaster and it has a few hairline cracks and small rough spots. These are shown in the additional photos. Close inspection of the plate revealed no blemishes or any signs of its true age. I didn\'t remove the plate but it appears to be in perfect condition. The paint on the back of the shadowbox is faded and scraped. I do not believe repainting the shadowbox would harm this piece but will leave that up to you. Some may prefer it completely original. This has been in my family since it was new. It originally belonged to my great-grandmother and she passed it on to my grandmother. My father inherited it from her and he left it to me.
