1905 WORLD WAR 1 BAYONET - SA - ORIGINAL SCABBARD:

Up for sale is a 1905 style Springfield Armory World War 1 Bayonet. This piece measures 21\" long overall. It has the original leather scabbard. This bayonet is stamped on one side, SA. Under that is a flaming bomb. Under that is 1906. The otherside is stamped, US, under that is 73194. Reportedly in 1906 there were only 2100 Springfield Armory made Bayonets of this model, but the records are a little blurred as the lowest recorded date for a 1906 was the number 1 and the highest was 191848. Either way, this is a low serial number for a 1906 bayonet which was the first year this 1905 model was issued. Bayonet is in good condition. The leather is stamped on the back, but it is hard to make out. There are also a few scratches on the exterior of the bayonet. We will be selling the lifetime edged weapon collection of Guy Ragusa. He passed away last fall, he was a lifetime collector of military items and indian artifacts. He used to set up at most of the major military shows. Many of the pieces that we are selling were in his personal collection. Some of these are one of a kind and are very hard to find knives.
