Antique12\" Horsman doll made in1910depictingthe Campbell kid usedin the Campbell Soup Co. advertising. Label on chest seam says \"Copyright ?1910 by E.I. Horsman Co.\". Label sewn to rt. cuff of suit says \"Campbell kid Licsd, by Joseph Campbell Co Mfg by E.I.Horsman\". Both hard to read but legible with magnification.
She is not perfect!. Most of thesedolls have a lot of paint loss on the composition head over time,probablydue tohow the compo was made.This one still has the cutefacial features intact. Firmly stuffed bodyhinged at shoulders & hips so doll can sit, neck also turns.Compolower arms in great condition, fabric on body has aged, old mend on one lower foot. (see pics)
Original one piece taggedromper suithas fine stripe, blue yoke & cuffs with fading, especially on front yoke, safety pin closure on back.Old crochet hat suits her well butis not original, probably was added to protect the remaining head paintwhen the doll was refurbished at sometime in the past.
From a collector estate, doll was refurbished, but kept original with no repaint!Remaining head paint was reinforced, hat added, romper cleaned & repaired.(see pics). She needs a new forever home!Sold \"AS IS\".
